Standards are an important part of any project. For personal projects, like many of the ones on this site, the standards are internalized by the developers. They may have a short document describing the standards or it may be an epic that no one uses because it simply can’t be memorized by anyone.
Regardless, standards are important because they bring consistency to a project. This consistency helps increase the comprehension of new developers (volunteers, consultants, and employees) and reduce the load on existing workers in bringing them up to full speed.
